I am a Ph.D. student in the William E. Boeing Department of Aeronautics & Astronautics at the University of Washington, working with Prof. Michael Bragg and Prof. Eli Livne on the topic of Multidisciplinary Design Analysis and Optimization (MDAO). I am interested in understanding how complex systems (such as aircraft, spacecraft, wind turbines, etc.) are influenced by the different disciplines that affect their design and how we can improve their performance by using more integrated design frameworks. I develop numerical methods for the design, analysis, and optimization of aircraft considering the interactions between different disciplines such as aerodynamics, structural dynamics, aeroelasticity, and controls to allow the design of more efficient aircraft and reduce the impact of aviation on the environment.
